The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was founded in 1952 by Reverend Josiah Akindayomi. His vision was to establish a church dedicated to holiness and spiritual growth. Initially, it was a small prayer group that later expanded into a full-fledged church.
After the passing of Rev. Akindayomi in 1980, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye was appointed as the General Overseer. Under his leadership, RCCG expanded globally and became one of the largest Pentecostal churches in the world.
Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, RCCG continued to grow exponentially, establishing thousands of parishes in Nigeria and other parts of the world. The annual Holy Ghost Congress became a global event attended by millions.
Today, RCCG has a presence in over 190 countries, with millions of members worldwide. The mission remains to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation, making disciples and impacting communities through faith and humanitarian efforts.
